This is a magazine is dedicated to promoting The
Godfather; the image instantly represents the Film by representing don Vito one of
the main characters. The black background creates a strong contrast this makes
the magazine eye catching and noticeable from a far distance. The black and
white colour tones make the image look metallic in appearance, the font colour
is soft and neutral it is not overwhelming this allows it to blend in with the
rest of the cover. The facial expressions do not give anything away I cannot
guess his emotion but he looks very intimidating and serious. Furthermore he is looking directly at the
viewer his dark pupils absorb you into the image.
This is a newspaper article, it caught my attention because
it contains two images one in black and white and the other in colour the main
aim of this is to promote a film so I believe the designers have tried to
inform viewers that they are ahead of their time by creating colour images in a
society that is predominantly accustomed to black and white. The font colours contain a strong contrast
but it does not show an organised theme the colours look random it would be better
if the colours tones were consistent.
The (New York) text is stylish it stands out from the rest of the image
implicating that it is the main heading. The font size is good and can
be read from a far distance and the small text underneath the images invites
viewer to take a closer look at what it says.
This magazines cover looks informative it tries to attract
people using value for money by displaying all the articles included.
Artificial light was used but only to illuminate the left hand side of his face
this represents two sides to him one that is dark evil and the other light and
moral. The colours through the image are dark and mysterious it tries to
represent an organised criminal. The only problem I have with the aesthetic
theme is it tries to represent criminals in a positive sense it does not seem
right. Moreover the text supports my views by saying (Mob Cool).
This Photograph caught my attention because the text and
subject’s eye colour are harmonising this makes the image look interesting and unique,
the main heading is elongated this represents shapes that are created by smoke.
There is also a white haze surrounding Ray Liotta and the rest of the image
this sections him off and creates a three dimensional effect, he is also
looking directly at the viewer this technique attracts people to take a closer
look. The contrast between the background and text is strong; furthermore the
pattern effect resembles a exclusive type of wallpaper.
