Theme: Still life
Target Audience And communication of concepts
Throughout this photo-shoot, I aim to capture a smart and formal style that will relate to adults and teenagers from the ages 17 onwards from all backgrounds. the watches that I will be using for my shoot are suited to a formal and casual style, I will try to create a contrast between backgrounds and subject. for example, I will capture a watch suited for a business related style in an outdoor environment such as woods.
Suitable
clothing
Woodlands contain muddy and rocky terrain so I will wear
boots, warm clothing, jumpers, joggers and a waterproof jacket. Emergency phone
in case of an accident, water and food,
Time of day
Time frame 10am – 1pm Three hours will allow me to travel to my location and photograph
still life images Expected weather conditions during the Tuesday morning
are: Partly cloudy, temperature – 14c, wind -9mph.
Location and
Transport
I
have decided to carry out my shoot in a woodland setting, the closest woodland
that I can travel to is Carverley wood in Leeds , this location is not far from
where I live so I am able to walk, expected time to reach location is 30
minutes. It’s a perfect area for still life as it contains a river, fallen
trees and leaves, rocky terrain and flowers.
Lighting
Weather
conditions during the day are expected to be partly cloudy but I will be
shooting my images at midday the sun should penetrate through the trees, this
could help me create shadows.
Low angle can create distorted circles if a
low depth of field is used.
Eye level
Distortion, low angle, high angle, depth of
field, leading lines, square format , black and white,
Goals and Plans for Implementation
To
capture watches within a still life image in a woodland
setting, I will use low depth of field, leading lines, low angle and shadows. I
may want to wrap a watch around a branch and capture a still life with low
depth of field. I could also place watches within a stream this would create a
ripple effect within the water depending on lighting conditions. Furthermore I
will also use a low angle by placing a watch at the base of a tree and
capturing the length of the trunk.
