I shot this image during the day with Natural lighting; Natural light creates a reflective effect against the glass table this adds a bright white glow to the image which makes it eye catching, the plates add a circular pattern. The colours of the sweet rice are very vibrant and uplifting, the contrast between the plates and table is strong this makes the image attention grabbing, furthermore the landscape format has allowed me to capture four dishes within one frame this would be difficult if I shot using a square or portrait format. Each plate contains a different pattern which add detail this makes the image more interesting.

The main aspect of this image is the contrast; the background contains a deep black colour this adds more emphasise to the food. I used natural lighting this has created a reflective effect against the black surface which adds to the contrast of the overall image. The pattern effect on the plate is vibrant and colourful compared to the background this encourages the viewer to focus his attention on the food. Moreover I could have placed the food within the centre of the image this would of created a more balanced image. Leading lines is also used to focus on the Cutlery this acts as an arrow pointing towards the food it is directing the viewer to the focal point of my image.

I captured this image using Artificial light, Artificial light has allowed me to create shadows by placing a card over one half of my image I was able to mask of the right side of my image this has also helped me create a contrast between the light and dark areas. High angle allows viewers to see the detail and colour of the food; additionally the red pasta sauce is bright and eye catching. The table top contains a grey and black marble effect this creates a pattern, the surface also contains a smooth texture.

I enjoy viewing this image because it contains warm and inviting colours, the background represent a dark and cold winter’s day while the plate and food represent a warm and uplifting meal this is a contrast between moods. The circular spots on the plate create a pattern effect this makes the image more detailed and enjoyable, the contrast between the food and background is very strong this adds a striking effect. The colour of the food is pink and reddish this reflects a soft and tender texture.

I captured this image at a Bird’s eye view; this angle has allowed me to capture the texture and scale of the food. The contrast between the meat and rice is very strong this creates an eye catching effect that makes the image stand out, the flowery patterns on the plate add detail this makes the image interesting, leading lines guide the viewer towards the food you can see the cutlery acts as an arrow pointing directly towards the food.   The colours are earthy this reflects a natural theme that makes the viewer feel relaxed. The right side appears blurred this may have been due to a smudge on the camera lens next time I will make sure that I clean the lens before shooting any images.
