Photo-shoot Plan - 1

Photo-shoot Plan – Abstract images of wood
Aesthetic theme – I have decided to shoot abstract images of wood and Nature, because wood comes in a wide variety of colours, shapes and sizes. Nature will go well with wood it contains many features to shoot this will create a diverse photo-shoot, it will allow me to compare sizes and colours to create harmonious and conflicting Images.
Design ideas
I will shoot close up shots of my subjects to allow me to capture the small details in the wood; I will experiment with colours, using primary and secondary colour themes. Experimenting with these themes will create conflicting and contrasting images; I will also experiment with quantity and shapes to emulate the effect that Ryan Bush created.
Equipment
  • Canon E0S 450D
  • EFS – 18 – 55mm lens
  • ISO – 100 – 1600
  • Aperture F4 –F22
Implementation
The shoot will be carried out indoors, I will compile objects related to wood and nature including:-
  • furniture
  • organic food
  • stone
  • leaves
Lighting
I will use artificial light including camera flash and indoor lighting and natural light because, I will be shooting during the day and into the evening.
Compositional techniques
Leading lines is an important area of my images, as wood contains many patterns and designs.
Rule of thirds – positioning of subjects is very important because it determines the first area or object within the image the viewer will see, this is very important because it makes an image more noticeable.
Angle
Majority of my images will be shot at a high angle to capture the detail on the surface of my subjects, I will also shoot at a birds eye angle to give a 2d effect.
