Style and Target Audience
Target Audience
I aim my images towards children and adults from the ages 3
on-wards, those who enjoy exploring different cuisines and cultures and people
who particularly appreciate attention to detail within deserts. People who
enjoy Asian culture and food will enjoy viewing my images because it will
contain bright eye catching colours. I will also use harmonising colour tones
to create a relaxing vibe, Furthermore I will use curvaceous and rectangular
shapes this will make my images more detailed. People expect bright and warm
colours from Asian deserts such as kulfi, gulab jamans and falooda.
Cultural influence and why
Bradford is a multicultural society there are a wide range
of cuisines from Asian, middle eastern, and Mediterranean. There are many
Indian restaurants that showcase their deserts from shop windows; they
purposely use bright colours to attract people. Moreover I am also inspired by
the complex texture and shapes that these deserts come in, I want to create a
warm and inviting image that re-creates the effect of being enticed by Food
Displays.
Inspirational Photographers
Gareth Morgans
inspired me to capture deserts particularly ice cream, I was fascinated by the
harmonising colour tones he used to create a balanced and surreal effect, he
also used modern techniques such as leading lines, contrasting colours and
Depth of field. I would also like to create harmonising images but with an
Indian cuisine, the reason for choosing an Indian cuisine is because I prefer
to give my viewers something different to the normal Deserts they are
accustomed to. When planning to shoot deserts the overall theme seemed bland
and dull so I researched Indian sweets on Pinterest this enabled me to gather
ideas on colour tones, textures, subjects and compositions.
Commercial
I believe my images
are commercial because it is representing a global market and continent; I was
influenced by Restaurant advertisement and displays so the commercial market
played a vital role in helping me decide what area I wanted to explore.
